William Anderson of Whitby, Lake Ontario b.1780 d.1862.

Son of George Anderson b.1751 d.1834 and Isabella Robertson.

Married Mrs Jane Goodman née Booth, a widow in Saint Fergus.

They had the following children:

M i George (VIII 42) b.1822 d.1910, farmer at Whitby, Lake Ontario.
Married Isabella Tocher. They had the following children:
George b.1856, farmer at Whitby, Lake Ontario (married Isabella Cameron, no children);
Jane b.1857 d.1865;
Isabella J. b.1859, teacher at Whitby, Lake Ontario, unmarried;
William B. b.1861 d.1900, farmer at Whitby, Lake Ontario
(married Agnes Hume, having children
Mary J. b.1896, who herself married A Young and had 6 children,
William A. b.1897 d.1916 in France, WWI,
Jean A. b.1900, who herself married J Waddell and had 4 children);
Alexander J. b.1863 d.1888, farmer at Whitby, Lake Ontario, unmarried;
Amelia b.1867 d.1906
(married Clarence Eaton, having one child,
Gladys, who herself married H C Seldon and had 2 children) ;

Notes on sources

Anderson family tree

Information is largely taken from the book 'The Andersons of Peterhead'. This was based on the records made by John Anderson 1825/1903 [VIII 32], known as 'China John'. This was brought up to date in 1936 by Cecil Ford Anderson [X 17] and Agnes Donald Ferguson [CS 45 X b]. Many photographs were taken and compiled in an album by Olive Edis (daughter of Mary Murray, daughter of Andrew Murray (2) of Aberdeen). Corrections to both Janet Innes Anderson's and Alexander Murray's death dates from Robert Murray Watt and Iain Forrest.

Hibbert family tree

The information is largely taken from a tree compiled by F.B. (she knows who she is!) with extra material found by the author.

The 'Genealogical Table showing various branches of the Murray family', from which this information was taken, was prepared by Alexander Murray of Blackhouse, extended by Andrew Murray - advocate - Aberdeen circa 1880 and further extended by Arthur Murray Watt 1972. The generational notation is the author's.
